Overview

Hummingbird is a B2B SaaS platform designed to manage field operations, job scheduling, and engineer workflows. The system connects office administrators and field engineers through a centralized platform for managing jobs, customers, schedules, and documentation - improving coordination, visibility, and execution across daily operations.

Challenge

The platform needed to support two fundamentally different user contexts - office administrators managing operations from desktop, and field engineers working on-site in real time.

Key challenges included:

  • Designing workflows for job scheduling, allocation, and shift management

  • Supporting real-time updates and operational visibility across roles

  • Handling complex job lifecycles (booking > assignment > execution > completion)

  • Enabling fast, reliable interactions in field conditions

  • Structuring the system to support multiple operational modules (jobs, engineers, customers, forms)

Worked as a Product Designer on the product, contributing to end-to-end design across the web platform and mobile-friendly engineer experience. Extended an existing product foundation into a more complete system, working closely with product and engineering teams.

  • Defined Shift and Work Management flows, supporting time tracking, shift overview, and work logging

  • Mapped end-to-end Engineer Workflows, including job acceptance, execution, and completion

  • Contributed to the design of a dynamic planner with daily, weekly, and monthly views

  • Designed interactions for job reassignment and scheduling flexibility

  • Designed experiences for both Office Admins and Field Engineers, adapting workflows to different contexts and constraints

  • Ensured usability across desktop-heavy admin workflows and mobile-first field usage

  • Supported workflows for form submission, validation, and tracking
