
Overview
Hummingbird is a B2B SaaS platform designed to manage field operations, job scheduling, and engineer workflows. The system connects office administrators and field engineers through a centralized platform for managing jobs, customers, schedules, and documentation - improving coordination, visibility, and execution across daily operations.
The platform needed to support two fundamentally different user contexts - office administrators managing operations from desktop, and field engineers working on-site in real time.
Key challenges included:
Designing workflows for job scheduling, allocation, and shift management
Supporting real-time updates and operational visibility across roles
Handling complex job lifecycles (booking > assignment > execution > completion)
Enabling fast, reliable interactions in field conditions
Structuring the system to support multiple operational modules (jobs, engineers, customers, forms)
Worked as a Product Designer on the product, contributing to end-to-end design across the web platform and mobile-friendly engineer experience. Extended an existing product foundation into a more complete system, working closely with product and engineering teams.
Designed workflows for Job Management, including job allocation, drag-and-drop scheduling, and status tracking
Defined Shift and Work Management flows, supporting time tracking, shift overview, and work logging
Mapped end-to-end Engineer Workflows, including job acceptance, execution, and completion
Contributed to the design of a dynamic planner with daily, weekly, and monthly views
Designed interactions for job reassignment and scheduling flexibility
Designed experiences for both Office Admins and Field Engineers, adapting workflows to different contexts and constraints
Ensured usability across desktop-heavy admin workflows and mobile-first field usage
Worked on Forms and Documentation system, including job forms, shared templates, and completion evidence flows
Supported workflows for form submission, validation, and tracking
Designed Customer and User Management interfaces, including search, filtering, and detailed views
Contributed to CRM integration touchpoints and data handling across the platform
Extended and applied a Design System across new features and modules
Ensured consistency across multiple product areas and future scalability
Worked closely with product and engineering teams through iterative design cycles
Participated in ongoing design updates, refining flows based on feedback and evolving requirements
Enabled structured workflows for managing field operations and job lifecycles
Improved coordination between office teams and field engineers
