Overview
Berry is a mobile-first B2B SaaS platform for managing employee workflows, Time Off, and HR operations across hybrid and remote teams. The product supports multi-role environments (Employees, Admins, Account Owners) and complex organizational structures, policies, and internal processes.
The core challenge wasn’t designing features. It was structuring a system where complex HR policies, roles, and workflows could scale without breaking usability.
Berry started as an early-stage HR product with an evolving structure and limited scalability across features and user roles. The platform needed to support multiple user types (Employees, Admins, Account Owners) while handling complex workflows such as Time Off Policies, approvals, and organizational structures.
As the product expanded, key challenges included:
Structuring scalable workflows across multiple roles and permissions
Designing systems that support complex policy logic and edge cases
Improving Information Architecture and navigation as features grew
Aligning mobile and web experiences into a consistent product
Enabling data visibility for HR processes through Reporting
Joined as a Junior UI/UX Designer under mentorship from 8y5 studio, and progressed into the sole Product Designer role. Owned end-to-end product design across mobile and web, collaborating with 3 Product Owners and engineering teams while independently driving product decisions.
Progressed from supported role to full ownership, leading design decisions across multiple product areas
Designed complex B2B systems with a focus on workflows, scalability, and long-term product structure
Worked deeply on system logic (policies, rules, conditions), translating operational requirements into usable product experiences
Worked on Time Off system - Policies, Approvals, Tracking, Balances, and edge-case handling
Designed Reporting features - enabling visibility into employee activity, absences, and HR processes
Expanded Hybrid Work Model - scaling and refining an initially introduced feature into a more complete workflow
Defined and improved Admin, Account Owner, and Employee workflows across multiple product areas
Restructured Information Architecture to support increasing product complexity and feature growth
Improved navigation and system clarity across web and mobile experiences
Led UX across iOS, Android, and web, ensuring consistency in behavior, patterns, and interaction logic
Designed role-based experiences tailored to different user needs within the same system
Evolved and scaled an existing Design System
Standardized components and patterns to support consistency and faster product iteration
Worked closely with engineers on implementation, iteration, and design handoff
Contributed to product thinking, feature definition, and prioritization across product and engineering
Supported product validation through A/B testing and user feedback loops (Miro-based testing with product team)
Turned a feature-based product into a structured system that could scale across roles, policies, and workflows.
Transitioned the product from an early-stage feature set into a scalable, system-driven HR platform
Reduced ambiguity in Time-off and policy workflows, enabling users to complete requests without back-and-forth clarification
Enabled HR teams to access and act on time-off data without manual tracking or fragmented tools
Established consistent patterns across mobile and web, reducing cognitive load as the product scaled
Shifted the team toward a more iterative, validation-driven product approach, grounding decisions in real usage and feedback
